That Week between Sports Seasons

The dreaded week between high school sports seasons. Now, explain to me, Niskayuna. Why is there a week long gap between fall sports, winter sports, and spring sports? I, personally, know for an unquestionable fact that I do not and will not work out during this week. In fact, I will probably eat more calories than anyone thought possible for my body weight. For example, the other day for a mid-afternoon snack, I ate three bagels.

And all for the sake of an afternoon snack. The only thing I can achieve during this break is to lose the muscle I gained all over again. I fall out of shape, I eat more than I should, I forget to drink any water, and I'll be in deep doo-doo for next week, when my spring sport of rowing rolls around again.

The process, in chronological order, goes something like this:

WINTER SPORT

...or maybe something like this, but still. It's a sport. It gets me in shape. 

WEEK OFF

which escalates to


SPRING SPORTS BEGIN

And that is why we absolutely should NOT have a rest week between sports.
